Detectable Warning Surface – Tactile Warning

Armor-Tile is a Vitrified Polymer Composite detectable warning surface tactile warning. Composed of high quality resins, engineered structural glass reinforcement, diamond-hard aluminum oxide, and state of the art ultra violet protection technology, Armor-Tile is designed to withstand elements such as extreme weather conditions, above average pedestrian traffic, even vehicular encounters.

A high strength detectable warning surface tactile warning is necessary in every application. The stringent requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act do not provide an allowance for cracked surfaces or broken truncated domes. If one dome is missing, whether chipped off, worn down, or crushed, the entire curb ramp is considered noncompliant and must be repaired. If the color fades, chips, or peels away, it no longer meets the color contrast requirement of the ADA and must be repainted, or replaced in some way. Armor-Tile will not deteriorate over time or with increased use and therefore does not require annual maintenance. Armor-Tile is uniform in color and maintains its integrity and compliance for years.

Armor-Tile comes with a five year warranty which covers manufacturer’s defects including fade resistance, but because polymer composites are highly durable and not susceptible to the elements, should remain compliant and function properly for many years beyond the initial warranty period.
