Rebar to Support Old and New Construction

In the case of retrofitting areas, holes are drilled in the existing concrete in a horizontal manner on each end of the sidewalk. In the creation of new sidewalk or landing rebar is used as a doweling to reinforce the new section to existing sidewalk. Concrete rebar is often used in order to tie the older sidewalk to the new construction to ensure the placement and support of the concrete system.
