Handicapped Ramps Curb Ramps
The implementation of handicapped ramps curb ramps became an obvious necessity when a group of WWII veterans came to a ceremony awarding them for their bravery and service to their country. The awards ceremony went along fine with all the initial speakers discussing the importance of the veterans service and fact that our county wouldn’t be what it is today without their service. Once the initial speakers commenced this part of the awards ceremony it was time to bring these exceptional people up on the stage to introduce them to the appreciative crowed.
When the names were called the crowd cheered in anticipation for each of these extraordinary people to receive their much deserved awards up on the stage. A few minutes went by and no one was coming on to the stage. The fact was that most of these celebrated war veterans had injuries or conditions that confined them to a wheelchair and they could not get up the stairs to the main stage.
This event triggered the obvious need for handicapped ramps curb ramps for individuals who were confined to wheel chairs. A national campaign ensued to create a public infrastructure that would accommodate people with all types of disabilities. This was completed by the creation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
